Embossing and Debossing use a metal-engraved die along with pressure, temperature, and time to press into fabric a design mark that will not fade or wash away. It is an extremely rich look on fabrics and a nice alternative to traditional decorating techniques. An item can be embossed or debossed if it has a surface area that lays flat and access to the layer directly behind the decorated surface. We can emboss/deboss any logo up to 14” by 14”.
Debossing: This is the term when the logo is pressed into the fabric. The black artwork elements show what will be pressed into the fabric.
Embossing: This is the term when the logo is not pressed into the fabric, but rather the areas surrounding the logo are pressed with the logo becoming a “negative” element of the design.
Some Items We Can Emboss or Deboss
* Golf Shirts
* Dress Shirts
* Luggage (some)
Embossing and Debossing Limitations
1. Vector artwork is required. Vector artwork is required to make your metal die.
2. Back of the garment must be accessible.
Some items require a backing to hold their shape. This backing must be applied directly to the underside of the area being decorated. Without backing the image on certain fabrics will gradually relax and fade away. The excess backing is trimmed close to the design but will remain with the garment.
